WHY THIS ROUTE?

The simple arrival at the meadow and the Hermitage of San Tirso, and being able to gaze at what we can see from there, makes it worthwhile to ascend to this place. It is an area which animals such as the wolf, wild boar and even the Cantabrian bear visit from time to time, which provides us with an additional incentive to venture on this route.

This route begins in the town of Ojedo, located just 5 minutes from the center of Potes, the capital of the Comarca of Liebana . From there, we will take one of the many paths leading to our day’s destination, discovering on the way imposing thousand-year-old chestnut trees, such as the one of the Nazerona, or oaks forests that will offer us an authentic show lights and sounds, depending on the time of the year in which we visit them.

The route is very easy to follow, and we will accompany you through forests of pines, oaks, holm oaks and cork oaks, something that is quite exceptional in the North of the peninsula.

We will have the possibility of completing our route by ascending the summit of Corrales Peak, another perfect view point of the privileged region in which we will find ourselves.
