THE HEART OF TORREBLANCA

WHY THIS ROUTE?

Who wishes to climb Torre Blanca?

To begin with this route, the first interesting thing that we must face is to cover the unevenness separating us from the start of our activity. We will do this on board the cable car of Fuente Dé, as long as we have not chosen the challenge of an ascent enjoying some of the amazing trails up the Paredon del circo of Fuente Dé towards the upper station of the cable car, such as the one that takes us through the steep Canal de la Jenduda or the amazing path of El Hachero.

If choose to climb mechanically using the cable car, to start, the route leads us through a comfortable and firm track to La Vueltona, a bend in the road where we will take a detour to start climbing a stone path towards our first objective of the day, the Refugio de Cabaña Veronica.

After we recover our strength and enjoy the views from Cabaña Veronica, we are will face one of the most technical parts of the route. This part leads us through a chaos of rocks and small depressions towards the Collada Blanca. From here, we will go along the edge, while we ascent the Southern part, a border separating us from our peak, and we will reach our objective of the day, the Torreblanca Peak, with some small climb.  From where, if the weather allows us to, we will enjoy unbeatable views of peaks such as the Llambrion, Peña Vieja, Torre Cerredo, etc…

We will descend using the same path, with the satisfaction of having climbed one of the most emblematic summits of the Central Massif of Picos de Europa.
